Accenture to Bring Their Tech Symposium to the Machine Learning Center at Georgia Tech

In an effort to expand services in machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and data science, Accenture will hold a Tech Symposium on Feb. 25 at the Machine Learning Center at Georgia Tech (ML@GT.) During the three-day event, guests will be treated to a tour of ML@GT’s new home in Coda Tech Square and talks from several of ML@GT’s faculty including Sehoon Ha, Zsolt Kira, Yao Xie, George Lan, Srijan Kumar, and Polo Chau. Attendees will include Accenture employees and clients from General Electric, NCR, Bank of America, and The Hershey Company.

Being able to connect them with the groundbreaking work that our students and faculty are doing is a great opportunity and we are looking forward to having them on campus,” said Irfan Essa, director of ML@GT.

3:35 – 3:55 p.m.

Secure and Interpretable AI

Presenter: Polo Chau is the associate director of corporate relations for ML@GT and an associate professor in the School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE). He will be sharing his work on creating secure and interpretable artificial intelligence.

3:55 – 4:15 p.m.

Beyond Supervised Learning: Learning with Less Data and More Goals

Presenter: Zolt Kira, an associate director of ML@GT and an assistant professor in the School of Interactive Computing (IC), will be presenting work on going beyond supervised learning with less data but more goals.

4:15 – 4:35 p.m.

Computational Methods for Developing Agile and Intelligent Robots

Presenter: Sehoon Ha, an assistant professor in IC and formerly a research scientist at Google and Disney Research in Pittsburgh, will present “Computational Methods for Developing Agile and Intelligent Robots”.

4:35 – 4:55 p.m.

Robust Detection from Streaming Data Over Dynamic Networtks and Algorithmic Foundations, Distributed and Decentralized Computation

Presenter: Yao Xie, the associate director of machine learning and data science for ML@GT and an associate professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE), will be joining forces for a joint talk with George Lan, the associate director of machine learning and statistics for ML@GT and associate professor in ISyE. Together, the duo will present their work on robust detection that occurs from streaming data over dynamic networks and algorithmic foundations.

4:55 – 5:15 p.m.

Building Next-Gen. Dynamic User Models to Forecast Customers and Predict Fraud

Presenter: Srijan Kumar, a recent addition to CSE as an assistant professor, rounds out the group to discuss how to build the next generation of dynamic user models to forecast customers behaviors and predict fraud.

Accenture is a Fortune 500 company and is partnering with Georgia Tech through its support of the online master’s of science in data analytics and master’s of science in cybersecurity programs.
